The Lincoln Alexander Art Law Society (LAALS) is run by and for law students interested in the fine arts, art repossession, the art market, art transactions, and legal issues within the art world. The LAALS aims to provide LASL students with a forum to explore this unique and interdisciplinary area of law through speaker series, panel presentations, networking events with Toronto gallerists and art lawyers, as well as gallery and museum visits, and even paint and craft nights. In the efforts to demystify how one’s individual passions can contribute to one’s career, the LAALS is committed to building community between its members and other student organizations at LASL to host collaborative events for a varying range of interests and celebrate the diverse cultural and identity factors of our school. Our mission is to introduce students to this specialized field of litigation and transactional law during such a pivotal time; we invite members to consider how art overlaps with their preferred area of study.
